Last night was fantastic! The glitter background ended up being a bit cheesy but if mixed in with the paint in certain areas, it became one with the piece... and it reflects wonderfully the music of Xania, Jonah Haché and Garbage Face.
Xania has a wonderfully sweet music full of bubbles and glitter bombs but speaks of the deep layers of humanity: a beach started taking form in the painting.
Jonah Haché was equally sweet, instead creating a flowy, almost ghost-like sound with rhythmic waves. I incorporated smooth areas and variations in color to add detail to the landscape.
Finally, Garbage Face had an agressive, yet eloquently poetic touch: the splashes in the painting represent his colorful style.
I'm really starting to enjoy live painting. Although scary at first, I really enjoyed letting go to the sound of the music and creating something that truly reflected their styles. This is the first live painting that I feel is truly finished. I'll have to remember to trust my knowledge and work from an overall vision to more detailed areas... and not forget to bring my bubble wrap...
